Candace Tschirki is undertaking a sizable feat. She wants every student at South Campus to give 15 minutes of community service each day, amounting to 28,000 hours each week and $202,000 of service at minimum wage. "I would like to see the school embrace a community of service," said Tschirki, a 48-year-old education major.
With graduation quickly app-roaching, many students cannot help but get excited about kicking off their summer with a diploma in hand; however, before you walk across that stage you must pass two assessment tests. Many students are unaware of these FCCJ graduation requirements, but before you hit the panic button; FCCJ provides various tools to prepare students for both the CLAST (the College-Level Academic Skills Test) and the ILAS (Information Literacy Assessment).
At the end of finals, many sophomores are nervous about admissions decisions and choosing where to go to college in the fall. Going to a four-year school can be frightening for some. Students are constantly plagued with questions of how they will afford a four-year college, what they should major in, or where to go for school.
South Carolina locals, Sent By Ravens, offers an eclectic blend of melodic catches and fluid lyrics that are not only uplifting but inspiring. The band, consisting of Jamie Windham (bass), Andy O'Neal (guitar), Zach Riner (lead vocals), Dane Anderson (drums), and JJ Lenard (guitar), strives to excite and challenge people in their everyday life.
People all over the planet are realizing pollution is harmful to the environment; this is why Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22. There are many available opp-ortunities to help prevent pollution, but recycling is one thing that everyone can do.
