Morton Perry, North Campus student, is a talented musician and humorist.

Morton Perry is much more than a name and another face in the crowd. Morton Perry is genuine, unique, strong-willed and a man of character. Morton has been attending Florida State College at Jacksonville for 2 years and 1 semester.

If he is at school, he will be smiling more times than most people frown. If he puts on a serious face, then he usually breaks out of it with a sly joke.

Morton works and studies at North Campus; also he takes classes online. He is a part of the Student Government Association and said that he's busy as a bee.

At North Campus, he enjoys the culinary program's fine food. Sometimes he shoots pool in their game room. He has a desire to live in Italy one day and to travel to the Seychelles Islands.

His favorite food is pizza; his favorite desert is cheesecake. Morton's taste is typical but he is far from that in all regards.

He is one of eleven children. He said that his siblings are like a box of chocolates since you never know what you're going to get.

Morton has an identical twin, Marlon. If the opportunity permits, they may inadvertently fool someone into thinking that he and his carbon copy can teleport.

An FSCJ student was confused one day after seeing Morton in the library, when later she saw Marlon in the cafeteria.

She said, "Did I not just see you upstairs?"

Marlon chuckled and said, "No, that was probably my brother [Morton]."

Morton Perry likes to play basketball and the saxophone. He has the height for a competitive player. He said that his only goal while he's here is in his backyard.

Morton's musical talent has been utilized and accepted by FSCJ. He has jammed for several events at North Campus. Also, he placed in the top at the school-wide talent show last semester by smoothly playing his sax.

One North student said about his performance at the talent show, "His play was superb."

Even though his musical talent and funny character are conspicuous, he has a rather subtle yet bold faith. His motivation is clearly from Christianity.

"Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior," he said.

He doesn't want to live a vain life, which appears paradoxical for a jokester. This is one reason why he's extraordinary.

He credits God with day-to-day motivation.

He said, "God woke me up today because He wasn't finished loving me yesterday."

It is apparent when someone talks to Morton about his faith in God that it is his anchor and support for everything.

Even though he claimed the only goal he has is the one in his backyard, his main goal is to help people and he wants his life's work to fulfill this.

He is a high quality friend, family member, and peer. Florida State College at Jacksonville has a good role model in Morton.
