Safety Sensitive: This is not a safety sensitive position Contingent Upon Award Program This position is not contingent upon program award Qualifications: Be a part of the One Boeing team supporting the premier supersonic, flagship and stalwart of the United States Navy and Marine Corp fleet, the F/A-18. On the team youll perform structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to validate that repaired components meet requirements and specifications for airworthiness. In this position you will become proficient in analyzing metallic, composite, and bonded structures while getting exposure to innovative solutions such as 3D printing that make Boeing a Global leader in aviation. The team is looking for someone who is a self-starter, excellent communicator and comfortable with a basic understanding of structural analysis including load paths, statics, classical hand analysis and fatigue and fracture. A willingness to use and learn various stress analysis tools for Finite Element Modeling and Model Based Definition (including Nastran/Patran, Abaqus, Unigraphics, Stress Check, etc.) is required, in addition to a good working knowledge of Excel. Most importantly, an enthusiasm to contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment where creative solutions for improvement in industry, community, and culture are on the forefront. Youll be working under close supervision and oversight where growth opportunities are available. You must be able to travel internationally as well as domestically and be willing and able to present your work up to executive levels. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering or physics by May 2021 Experience and/or education in mechanical stress and structural analysis Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Previous internship(s) or experience on a design/build team Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
