The GIS Intern will work with our Director of Geospatial Science to support the organization as necessary to accomplish the mission through spatial data development and analysis, map production, watershed management programs, and FEMA Flood Insurance Studies for several Coastal, Water Resources, Environmental, and Waterfront Engineering projects. This is a part-time position with the potential to go full-time in the future. RequirementsA qualified candidate will possess the followingCurrently completing bachelor's or master's degree0-3 years of experience in the GIS fieldLocal candidates onlyAn understanding of spatial analysis, data management in a relational database, map preparation, and topographic data developmentKnowledge of ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro and associated extensions including 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst Effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced team environment and multitask effectivelyEffective analytical and problem-solving skillsEnthusiastic, positive "can-do" attitudeTravel and field work may be requiredAbility to understand and interpret technical information and diagramsPhysical Job Requirements:Lifting up to (25) pounds unassistedSitting for extended periods of timePossess acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen Ability to occasionally go out into the field and construction sites**Please complete your application through our job board Only completed applications will be considered for this position.
