Do you have great attention to detail and ready to put your Engineering Degree to work on complex projects? Parsons is now hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer to work as a Roadway/Bridge Inspector on a Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in the Jacksonville, Florida area. Candidate must have a Civil Engineering degree with two years of experience in construction inspection or possess an Engineering Intern (EIT) certificate with no prior experience. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. No relocation assistance available.Responsibilities include: Receive general supervision from the Project Engineer and Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress. Read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings. Perform field inspection of the contractor's operations to ensure compliance with contract documents. Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures. Prepare daily reports to document contractor work operations. Enter daily reports in Site Manager and testing results into Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) database. Perform quantity take-offs, and field measure or calculate installed material quantities. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringSome related work experience and/or internships preferred Engineering Intern (EIT) certificatePossess or be able to obtain required FDOT CTQP certificates and Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) certification within one year
