The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. Students in the program will actively contribute to their teams success, learn about JM Family's company and culture and obtain new skills through learning opportunities and networking events. The individual selected for this internship will be responsible for supporting their department in a variety of functions and will have exposure to all activities related to the department's initiatives. The intern will also gain access to professional development opportunities through the internship program.


3 Month Full-Time Paid Summer Intern Position

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC, a division of JM Family, one of FORTUNE's best companies to work for, has an opening at our Westlake Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) located in Jacksonville, Florida for a temporary three-month internship this summer.

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC is the world's largest independent distributor of Toyota vehicles. The company distributes vehicles, parts, and accessories to 177 independent Toyota dealers in the five-state region of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and North and South Carolina. The company helps its dealers sell nearly 20 percent of all Toyotas in the nation through innovative sales and marketing programs, customer service, accessory development, fleet sales, and transportation and logistics.

We are seeking an Intern with a strong desire to learn and grow their academic knowledge as a partner in our professional environment. As a member of our VPC Training team, the intern will assist the team in a variety of functions. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Work with the Management teams at all three VPC facilities to prioritize documentation of processes. The targeted processes to be documented are those where no written process previously existed.
  • Work with each of the three processing centers to prioritize the need at each location and proceed accordingly.
  • Collaborate with teams and management to support gathering needed training/process information and writing in a standardized format.
  • Support with designing & structure of information.
  • Clean-up, format & innovate documents and content creation.
  • Organize ideas, meeting info, action-item lists, etc.
  • Create & manage questionnaires & information in both Google Forms and Google Drive.
  • Printing for job-aids & training purposes.
  • Managing multiple tasks and initiatives successfully.
  • Other projects or duties assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Marketing, Communications or similar field and maintaining a satisfactory grade point average (3.0 above).
  • Candidates should be at least at Junior level in coursework.
  • General understanding of the continuous improvement process. (Classwork including awareness of Six Sigma and/or Kaizen preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create and manipulate data required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
  • Ability to work independently under time constraints and manage complexity effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
