The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. Students in the program will actively contribute to their teams success, learn about JM Family's company and culture and obtain new skills through learning opportunities and networking events. The individual selected for this internship will be responsible for supporting their department in a variety of functions and will have exposure to all activities related to the department's initiatives. The intern will also gain access to professional development opportunities through the internship program.

3 Month Full-Time Paid Summer Intern Position

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC, a division of JM Family, one of FORTUNE's best companies to work for, has an opening at our auto-transport company Southeast Transportation Systems, Inc. (STS) located in Jacksonville, Florida for a temporary Logistics Intern for a three month period this summer. Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC is the world's largest independent distributor of Toyota vehicles. The company distributes vehicles, parts and accessories, and provides support to 177 independent Toyota dealers in the five-state region of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and North and South Carolina.

Southeast Transportation Systems, Inc. (STS) was established in July 2000 to better serve our dealers. Once vehicles are processed, getting them to dealers' lots and showrooms in perfect condition becomes a top priority. STS transports over 200,000 vehicles annually to Southeast Toyota dealers from its Jacksonville, FL and Commerce, GA processing centers. STS operates a fleet of 102 trucks; each truck is capable of hauling upwards of 200 vehicles per month to dealers across the Southeast.

We are seeking a Logistics Intern with a strong desire to learn and grow their academic knowledge as a partner in our professional environment. As a member of STS, the intern will assist the team in a variety of functions. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Assist with data analysis & reporting for new yard-exit scan process related to eWorkorder project.
  • Assist in enhancing KPI reporting for on-time delivery, damage frequency/cost, and other 2020 strategic goals and metrics.
  • Assist with route improvement and dealer assignments to maximize carrier efficiency.
  • Other projects or duties assigned by manager.

Internship Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or equivalent and maintaining a satisfactory grade point average (3.0 above).
  • Candidates should be at least at Junior level in coursework.
  • General understanding of continuous improvement process. (Classwork including awareness of Six Sigma and/or Kaizen preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Google sheets with the ability to create and manipulate data required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
  • Ability to work independently under time constraints and manage complexity effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous data analysis experience desired but not required.
