That was the question of the night. Theaters prepared to unleash the midnight showing of the Twilight sequel: "New Moon." It was only a matter of time before the fan chaos began. The line of blood hungry and wolf crazed fans wrapped around the lobby and out the door. There was no awkward silence, as fans discussed and defended their position on Edward vs. Jacob.

Extreme anticipation overtook most fans, one girl, while waiting in line, was even crying. She said, "I've just been waiting so long to see my Edward again."

It's no understatement to say that the Twilight book saga and films have fans completely obsessed. Not only did the theater have several different viewing times, but all theatres were sold out.

Many fans came out specifically to be the first one to see the film. Marisa D'elia, an Edward loving fan, said, "I couldn't accept the fact that others might see the movie before me."

There were merchandise tables selling everything from New Moon sweatshirts, t-shirts, jewelry boxes, and soundtrack CDs.

Although most fans already had purchased, or made their own personalized Twilight T-shirts, lines were still staggering waiting for a piece of bling. One girl's shirt read on the front "I love boys that sparkle," and flipped to the back said "and I love a good bite."

Devoted, Twilight loving fans are part of the reason that "New Moon" had the third biggest opening in film history. With "New Moon" towering above the numbers that "Twilight" brought in, the sky is the limit for the next two installments, "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn."

It is safe to say New Moon lived up to and surpassed the hype.
